Hurts to use ‘em, everytime

A number of African frogs have fingerbones that end in little nasty claws. However, they aren’t sheathed like cats… they lurk just below the frog’s skin.  If something upsets the frog, or if they need additional grip, the little boneclaws rip through the fingertips, allowing the frogs to draw blood!

 When they’re done, the bones retract, and no doubt the amphibious penchance for regeneration kicks in, healing the claws over.

Somehow I doubt one of America’s favorite superheroes would’ve been quite so popular if he was based on a frog, though, given how successful Marvel’s other frog hero was…
